Our Standards and Process
How our Jackson team does the work, from the first call to the end of the job.
Jump to a section
Every HydroClean job follows the same steps. You call or send an estimate request, we collect the details and prepare the estimate, and once you approve it we schedule a time. We do the job, and you get a chance to look at the work before we leave. Each kind of floor has its own cleaning process.
This page is how we do the work. It covers the steps from the first call to the end of the job, the process for each kind of floor, and what cleaning cannot do.
It also covers what happens if something is not right. Ask us about any of it when you call.
How We Clean Each Floor
Carpet
We start with a walkthrough and pre-vacuum every area. We move furniture where needed, clean underneath, then put it back and block it. A traffic-lane cleaner breaks the bond between the soil and the fiber. Then we extract at 300 to 500 PSI with water heated to 200 to 240°F. Remaining spots are treated and rinsed again, and the carpet is neutralized if needed. Protector, when you have purchased it, goes on last.
Tile and Grout
We clear the floor and apply the cleaner with a pump sprayer. Then we rinse at about 1,000 to 1,200 PSI with 200 to 240°F water, and that water is vacuumed out to the truck at the same time. In showers we deal with hard-water deposits, soap scum, mold and mildew, and we clean those with hand tools.
Hardwood and Luxury Vinyl Plank
Hardwood takes two steps. We pre-spray a deep cleaner, or a stripping agent if there is store-bought polish on the floor, and recover it with a small extractor. Then we finish with a neutralizing rinse. Luxury vinyl plank is almost the same, often with gentler cleaners. We offer screen and recoat on hardwood. We do not sand to bare wood.
Upholstery
We identify the fiber first. Then we pre-spray and give it 5 to 10 minutes of dwell time. We clean by hand shampoo or hot water extraction, treat the spots, and finish with a rinse that leaves the fabric neutral to slightly acidic.
Safe Solutions
Our products are tested and safe for homes. They are family safe and pet safe. For severe allergies or sensitivities, ask for our hypoallergenic cleaner. It has no odor or perfume.
Our Process, Step by Step
You Call or Send an Estimate Request
Call (731) 437-0006 and David answers, or send the estimate request form.
We Collect the Details
We ask what needs cleaning, which rooms, and rough sizes. For some services we can give a phone estimate, with the final price set on inspection. For others we book an in-home estimate.
We Prepare the Estimate
David prices each job individually. If the job is below our service minimum, it becomes a flat-rate minimum.
You Approve It and We Schedule a Time
Nothing is scheduled until you approve the estimate. A checklist goes out 24 to 48 hours before the appointment. It asks you to pick up toys and clothes and have the rooms open and available.
We Do the Job and You Look at the Work
We clean each floor with the process described above. When we finish, you get a chance to look at the work before we leave the job site.
What You Hear From Us
Here is what you can expect to hear from us, and when.
- David answers the phone himself.
- We collect the details before we give a number, so the estimate fits your job.
- For some services we can give a phone estimate, and the final price is set on inspection.
- A checklist reaches you 24 to 48 hours before the appointment.
- Drying times come as a range. Allow about half a day for carpet, sometimes up to 24 hours.
- If you want to add a service while we are there, we do it if time allows. If not, we quote it and schedule another date.
What Cleaning Cannot Do
We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.
- We do not always know what will come out. We tell you what we expect before we start, and we do not promise complete stain or odor removal.
- Traffic lanes improve a great deal and can still look a little darker than the carpet beside them. That is wear from foot traffic, and cleaning does not reverse wear.
- Bleach spots and old dye loss cannot be cleaned out. The color has left the fiber.
- For pet urine we inspect with a UV light and a moisture meter. Isolated pad damage can be flushed by subsurface extraction. If contamination covers more than roughly 30 to 40 percent of a room, replacement is usually the better advice.
- Most pet stains come out, and odor is removed or greatly reduced. We cannot promise complete odor removal every time.
Care for Your Property
Your Property Is Protected
We take the time to make sure your home or business is protected during the cleaning, to help prevent accidental damage.
Furniture Moved and Blocked
On carpet jobs we move furniture where needed and clean underneath. Then we put it back and block it.
Tell Us About Health Concerns
If anyone in the building has chronic health issues or severe allergies, talk to us before the service. We have a hypoallergenic cleaner for that.
A Professional Crew
The crew wears company-logo shirts and keeps the van clean and organized. We treat each home or business like our own.
If Something Is Not Right
David says it this way: "We run a cleaning company, not a magic company. We cannot fix every issue, but if it is within our ability, we make it right before we leave."
That is why you get a chance to look at the work before we leave. If you see something, point at it. Another pass is easy while the equipment is still hooked up.
Carpet looks different wet than dry, so some things only show later. If you call two days after the job, David apologizes, listens, and comes by to look at the area. If it needs it, we re-clean it.
Things to Point Out
An Area That Looks Missed
Point it out when you look at the work. Most of these are handled before we leave.
A Spot That Comes Back
Sometimes a spot reappears as carpet dries, because residue deep in the backing wicks up to the surface. Call us and David will come look at it.
A Sticky or Tacky Feel
Properly rinsed carpet does not feel tacky. If yours does, call us.
Something You Notice Once It Dries
Call and tell us what you see. David will come by and look at the area.
Tell us before we leave, or call (731) 437-0006 once the floor dries. Describe what you see, like a spot that came back or an area that looks untouched. You do not need the technical terms. To see how we check the work before we call it finished, read our quality inspection process.
Questions About Our Standards
Do you rinse the cleaner back out?
Yes. On carpet we treat the remaining spots and rinse again after extraction, and the carpet is neutralized if needed. Hardwood finishes with a neutralizing rinse. Upholstery is rinsed so the fabric is left neutral to slightly acidic.
Do you use the same method on every floor?
No. Carpet is cleaned by hot water extraction. Tile and grout get a high-pressure rinse. Hardwood and luxury vinyl plank are cleaned with a pre-spray and a small extractor. We identify what we are working on first.
What happens if I am not happy when I look at the work?
Tell us while we are still there. We cannot fix every issue, but if it is within our ability, we make it right before we leave. If something shows up after the floor dries, call and David will come look at it.
What if a stain does not come out?
We do not always know what will come out, and we tell you that before we start. We run a cleaning company, not a magic company. If more can be done and it is within our ability, we do it before we leave.
Why does a spot come back after the carpet dries?
It is called wicking. Residue deep in the carpet backing travels up to the surface as the moisture evaporates. Call us once the floor is dry and David will come look at it.
How long will my carpet take to dry?
Allow about half a day, sometimes up to 24 hours. Air movers speed it up. Carpet dries faster in winter than in a humid West Tennessee summer.
Can I add a service while you are here?
If time allows, yes. If the day is too full, we quote it and schedule another date.
