Floor care education covers the questions behind every service question. We explain how flooring affects indoor air, what cleaning does and does not do about allergens, how we match the cleaning method to the surface, and how to tell when a floor needs professional care and more mopping will not help.
These guides cover the bigger questions. Why do floors behave the way they do? How do the method and the timing change the result?
We have not tested your home, so we do not publish allergen removal percentages, air quality figures or lab results. Where something here is general guidance, we say so.
Every Floor Care Education Guide
Each guide answers its question in the first paragraph, then explains the reasoning and states the limits.

How does HydroClean talk about air quality?
A percentage is a measurement from one test in one place. We have not run that test in your home, so a number on this page would not tell you anything you could check.
What we can say is that we remove soil, dust and allergen carrying particles from the surfaces we clean, and you can see it in the recovery tank. Our products are tested and safe for homes. For severe allergies or sensitivities we have a hypoallergenic cleaner with no odor or perfume. Cleaning is not a medical treatment.
How do you choose the right method for a floor?
We look at the surface first, then the soil, then how soon you need the room back. Hot water extraction is our standard for carpet. Upholstery starts with identifying the fiber, then gets hand shampooing or hot water extraction. Encapsulation, a low-moisture method, suits large glue-down commercial carpet. Tile and grout get a high-pressure rinse that is vacuumed out at the same time.
Hardwood gets a pre-spray, a small extractor and a neutralizing rinse. Luxury vinyl plank is cleaned almost the same way, often with gentler cleaners. VCT gets stripped and waxed when the old finish is worn out, or buffed when it is not. Natural stone needs a cleaner chosen for that stone, because the wrong product etches it. Rugs are checked for fiber and dye before we pick a method.
Our guide to choosing the right method goes surface by surface. Questions about your floors? Call or text (731) 437-0006.
Common Questions
Does carpet cleaning improve indoor air quality?
Taking soil, dust and allergen carrying particles out of carpet reduces what can become airborne when the carpet is disturbed. We have not lab tested your home, so we do not publish air quality percentages. Cleaning helps, and it is not a medical treatment.
Is carpet or hard flooring better for allergies?
Both work when they are kept up. Carpet traps particles and holds them until they are vacuumed or extracted. Hard floors let particles move around until they are swept or mopped. How well the floor is kept up matters more than which kind it is.
What cleaning method do you use?
Hot water extraction for carpet, at 300 to 500 PSI with water heated to 200 to 240°F from a truck mounted machine. Upholstery is hand-shampooed or extracted, depending on the fiber. Hard floors, stone and VCT each get a method matched to the surface. Hot water extraction is the method most carpet manufacturers specify.
