Pet Stain Removal for Carpet in Jackson, TN
4.9 (278 reviews)3 min read
Pet stain removal in Jackson starts with finding how far each accident went. Urine soaks through the carpet into the backing and pad, so we inspect with a UV light and a moisture meter. Isolated pad damage can be flushed out by subsurface extraction. Most stains come out. Old ones can leave the dye changed, and cleaning cannot reverse that.
A pet accident is not a surface spill. Liquid passes through the face fiber in seconds, spreads sideways through the backing and soaks into the pad. What you see on top is often the smallest part. That is why a spot that looked clean comes back a week later.
So we inspect first, with a UV light and a moisture meter. That shows us where the urine is and how far down it went. Where the pad damage is isolated to a few spots, we can flush it with subsurface extraction, which pulls the contamination up from below the surface.
Results vary, and we would rather say so. Most stains come out. A stain that has sat for years, or that a store-bought product has already set, may improve a lot without disappearing. If the contamination covers more than roughly 30 to 40 percent of a room, replacement is usually the better advice, and we will tell you that. We do not replace pad or seal subfloors. We refer you to a carpet installer for that.
Because we need to see it, pet work usually starts with an in-home estimate. Call or send an estimate request and tell us which rooms are affected. A smell that lingers is covered on our pet odor removal page.

Our Process
Inspect With a UV Light and Moisture Meter
We find how far each accident has spread, which is often several times larger than the visible mark.
Tell You What We Found
We tell you what we think each spot will do, based on its age, its size and whether it has been treated before. If too much of the room is affected, we say so.
Treat the Spot
We apply the treatment so it reaches through the fiber and backing toward the contamination, and give it time to work.
Subsurface Extraction
Where the pad is involved in isolated spots, we flush it and pull the contamination back out from below the surface.
Clean the Surrounding Carpet
We clean the wider area with hot water extraction, so the treated spot does not stand out against dirtier carpet around it.
Rinse and Check With You
We rinse, neutralize if needed, and look at each treated area with you before we leave.
What's Included
- Inspection with a UV light and a moisture meter
- An honest read on each spot before work begins
- Treatment with time to work
- Subsurface extraction where isolated pad damage calls for it
- Cleaning of the surrounding carpet so the treated area blends in
- Rinsing, and neutralizing if needed
- A look at every treated area with you before we leave
Realistic Results, Honestly
We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.
- Most pet stains come out. A fresh accident treated quickly has the best odds.
- Old contamination is different. Urine that has sat for months or years can change the carpet dye. That color change is damage, and cleaning does not reverse it. The area will be clean, and the discoloration may remain.
- If a store-bought product has already been used on the spot, removal is often harder. Many of those products set the stain or leave residue that draws soil back.
- Subsurface extraction works for isolated pad damage. If contamination covers more than roughly 30 to 40 percent of a room, replacement is usually the better advice. We do not replace pad or seal subfloors. A carpet installer does that work, and we will refer you to one.
- We do not always know what will come out. We would rather tell you a spot may only improve than promise it will vanish.
Safe for Your Family and Pets
The products we use are tested and safe for the pets and children who live in the home. They have to be, because your pet will lie on this spot tomorrow. We extract and rinse the treated areas when we are done.
What Customers Say
“Pet stains, koolaid stains, pop and come stains. I had it all. They worked and got my carpet MUCH cleaner than I ever expected. My husband and I are super happy with the job HydroClean did. Will call them again and again!”
Laura D. · Google review · July 2018 “Great service! They were both professional and knowledgeable. We have two dogs and four kids so our carpet needed a good cleaning. Our staircase was the worst for pet accidents and they removed the stains and odor which was my biggest concern. Highly recommend!”

Pet Stain Carpet Cleaning Questions
Why do pet stains keep coming back?
Because some of the contamination is still below the surface. Surface cleaning lifts what is in the face fiber, then residue in the backing and pad wicks up as the carpet dries, and the mark returns. Flushing it out from below with subsurface extraction is how we deal with that.
Can you completely remove pet stains?
Most come out, but we cannot promise it. It depends mostly on age. Urine left for months or years often changes the carpet dye, and cleaning cannot reverse that color change. We check each spot and tell you what we think before we start.
Will the smell come back?
It can, if some of the source is still in the pad or under it. Odor that returns in humid weather usually means that. Most of the time the odor is removed or greatly reduced, but we cannot promise complete odor removal every time.
Should I use a store-bought product first?
For a fresh accident, blot up as much as you can with plain white towels and call us. Many store-bought products set the stain or leave residue that makes removal harder. Blotting does no harm and helps a lot.
When is replacement the better choice?
When too much of the room is affected. If the UV light and moisture meter show contamination over more than roughly 30 to 40 percent of a room, replacement is usually the better advice, and we will tell you so. We do not replace pad or seal subfloors. We refer you to a carpet installer for that work.
