Ceramic tile cleaning in Jackson starts with a look at the glaze and the grout. We clear the floor, apply cleaner with a pump sprayer, then rinse with 200 to 240°F water at about 1,000 to 1,200 PSI while the tool vacuums it out to the truck. Worn glaze does not clean back.

Ceramic is the most common tile in West Tennessee homes, and it cleans up well. It is fired at a lower heat than porcelain, which leaves a softer, more absorbent body under a glazed top layer. The glaze is what keeps the tile clean. On older ceramic, that glaze can be thinner and easier to dull than people expect.

Harsh pads and acidic products can dull or scratch a ceramic glaze, and damaged glaze holds soil it never used to. So we check what the tile is and what shape the glaze is in before we pick a cleaner.

As with every tile floor, the grout is usually the real problem. The tile often comes back without much trouble. The grout lines hold years of mop water and traffic soil, and that is where the hot rinse does its work. Call (731) 437-0006 or request an estimate.

Our Process

  1. Confirm the Tile Is Ceramic

Ceramic, porcelain and stone can look alike and take different treatment. We confirm which you have before anything goes on the floor.

  2. Check the Glaze and Grout

We look for worn glaze, chips, failing grout, hairline cracks, mismatched grout colors and old repairs, and point them out before we start.

  3. Clear the Floor

Mats and light furniture come off the tile.

  4. Apply the Cleaner

Cleaner goes on with a pump sprayer and gets time to work.

  5. High-Pressure Rinse and Vacuum

We rinse at about 1,000 to 1,200 PSI with 200 to 240°F water. The tool vacuums the water and soil out to the truck as it goes.

  6. Look It Over Together

Once it is done, you look at the floor with us before we leave.

Realistic Results, Honestly

We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.

  • Glaze wear stays. On older ceramic, years of traffic can dull or finely scratch the glaze along the walking path. If that path still looks flat after cleaning, it is worn glaze. Cleaning cannot restore it.
  • Chips, cracked tiles and crazing, the fine web of cracks in an old glaze, show more after cleaning. The soil that hid them is gone.
  • The grout usually sets the limit. Ceramic tile cleans up well most of the time. If the floor still does not look right, it is normally grout that has taken a stain for good, and color sealing is the fix for that.
  • Ceramic on walls and countertops often has a softer decorative glaze than floor ceramic. It gets gentler handling and more hand work.

Safe for Your Family and Pets

We use family safe, pet safe products, and the rinse takes them back out. Damp ceramic is slippery, so stay off it until it dries, usually 1 to 2 hours.

Ceramic Tile Cleaning Questions

How do I know if my tile is ceramic or porcelain?

Ceramic often shows a white or colored body under the glaze at a chipped edge, and it is a little lighter and more absorbent. Porcelain is denser, and the color often runs all the way through. We check before we start, so you do not have to.

Will cleaning dull my ceramic glaze?

Acidic products and harsh pads are what dull a glaze. That is why we check the tile first and use a cleaner ceramic can take.

Why does my ceramic floor look cloudy after mopping?

That is usually detergent residue and hard water film left by mopping. It builds up in thin layers and dulls the glaze. A hot high-pressure rinse takes that film off.

Can you clean ceramic wall tile too?

Yes. Wall ceramic often has a softer decorative glaze and needs hand tools, because cleaner will not stay put on a wall.

Wondering about cost? We do not post prices, but you can see what affects the price of tile and grout cleaning.
