LVP floor cleaning in Jackson gets the soil out of the ridged finish on luxury vinyl plank. HydroClean pre-sprays a cleaner, recovers it with a small extractor and finishes with a neutralizing rinse. It is almost the same process we use on hardwood, often with gentler cleaners because the plank is a plastic material. We do not wax it.

Luxury vinyl plank is the wood-look floor that has gone into a great many homes and businesses around Jackson. People choose it because it is low maintenance, and it is.

The catch is the surface. Most plank has a ridged finish to make it look like wood grain. Those ridges hold on to soil, and so do the seams between planks. Mopping cleans the tops and leaves the rest. Over time the floor looks dull even though it was just mopped.

We clean and extract it. A cleaner is pre-sprayed on the floor, a small extractor recovers it along with the soil from the ridges, and a neutralizing rinse goes down last so the floor does not attract soil or footprints. It is almost the same as our hardwood process. The cleaners are often gentler, because plank is plastic.

If you want protection on the floor afterward, ask us about sealers and coatings when you call. Call (731) 437-0006 or send an estimate request.

Benefits of LVP Floor Cleaning

  • A cleaner that suits a plastic floor
  • A neutralizing rinse so the floor does not attract soil or footprints
  • No wax and no stripping

Who This Is For

  • Offices and clinics with plank flooring
  • Anyone whose LVP looks dull or feels sticky after mopping

Our Process

  1. Confirm the Floor

The technician confirms the floor is luxury vinyl plank and looks at its condition before choosing a cleaner.

  2. Pre-Spray

A cleaner goes down on the plank. It is often a gentler product than we use on wood, because vinyl is plastic.

  3. Extract

A small extractor recovers the cleaner and the soil that was sitting in the ridged finish.

  4. Neutralizing Rinse

We rinse so nothing is left on the floor to attract soil or show footprints.

  5. You Look at the Floor

You get a chance to look at the work before we leave.

What's Included

  • Confirmation that the floor is LVP
  • Cleaner pre-spray suited to vinyl
  • Extraction with a small extractor
  • A neutralizing rinse
  • A chance to look at the work before we leave

Realistic Results, Honestly

We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.

  • We do not strip or wax LVP. The factory wear layer is the finish.
  • Most plank has a low sheen or a matte look. A clean matte floor is what you should expect.
  • Scratches and gouges in the wear layer do not come out with cleaning.
  • Planks that are swollen, cupped or lifting at a seam have water damage. Cleaning will not change that.

Safe for Your Family and Pets

Our products are tested and safe for homes with children and pets. Keep everyone off the floor until it is dry. If anyone has severe allergies or sensitivities, ask about our hypoallergenic cleaner, which has no odor or perfume.

LVP Floor Cleaning Questions

Can LVP be waxed or refinished?

No. The wear layer from the factory is the finish, and plank cannot be sanded and refinished like wood. We clean it. If you want added protection, ask us about sealers and coatings.

Why is my LVP sticky or dull?

Usually it is residue from cleaning products, plus the soil sitting in the ridges. We pre-spray a cleaner, extract it and rinse the floor so it is left neutral.

Is it the same process as hardwood?

Almost. Pre-spray, a small extractor and a neutralizing rinse. The difference is the cleaner. Plank is a plastic material, so we often use gentler products on it.

My planks are lifting at the edges. Can cleaning help?

No. Lifting or swelling means water has gotten under or into the plank. That is damage. We will point out where we see it.

Wondering about cost? We do not post prices, but you can see what affects the price of floor cleaning.
