Grout restoration in Jackson goes past cleaning. After the grout is cleaned and fully dry, a pigmented color seal goes on every line in one even shade and seals the surface. It is the fix for grout that is stained for good, patchy or mismatched. Damaged grout has to be repaired first.

There is a point where more cleaning stops helping. Cement grout absorbs color as well as soil. Once a stain has gone deep, it is part of the grout. That line can be clean and still look darker than the one beside it. Cleaning it again changes nothing, and we will not sell you the same job twice.

Color sealing is the answer to that. It is a pigmented sealer that coats the grout in one chosen shade and seals the surface at the same time. Every line ends up the same color, whether it started stained, patchy or repaired.

It also fixes grout that never matched. Repairs after a plumbing job, a replaced tile or a section grouted at a different time will always show under cleaning alone. Mismatched grout colors and old repairs are things we look for on every floor.

Grout that is cracked, crumbling or missing has to be repaired before a color seal goes on, because a coating over a broken line fails quickly. We check for that when we look at the floor. Call (731) 437-0006 or request an estimate.

Benefits of Grout Restoration

  • One even grout color across the floor
  • Covers staining that cleaning cannot lift
  • Hides mismatched repairs and patched sections
  • Seals the grout surface in the same step
  • Lets you change the grout color without regrouting

Who This Is For

  • Floors that have been cleaned and still show dark grout
  • Grout with visible patch repairs or mismatched sections
  • Homeowners who want a different grout color
  • Jackson sellers and landlords getting a home ready to show
  • Floors with an older color seal that has worn

Our Process

  1. Decide Whether It Is the Right Call

If cleaning alone will get you there, we will tell you. Restoration is for grout that cleaning has taken as far as it goes.

  2. Check for Repairs

We look for failing grout, hairline cracks, old repairs and the condition of any color sealer already on the floor. Broken sections have to be fixed before a coating goes over them.

  3. Clean the Grout

The floor is cleared, cleaner goes on with a pump sprayer, and the grout gets the hot high-pressure rinse. Color seal over soil will not bond.

  4. Let It Dry

The grout has to be fully dry before pigment goes on.

  5. Pick the Color and Test

We choose the color with you and test a hidden section to make sure the pigment comes off the tile face cleanly.

  6. Apply the Color Seal

Pigmented sealer is worked into each line, and the excess comes off the tile before it sets.

  7. Cure and Look It Over

The seal is left to cure. You look at the floor with us, and we go over how to care for it.

Realistic Results, Honestly

We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.

  • Color sealing is a coating. It bonds to the grout surface, so it can wear at thresholds and busy spots over time and will want touching up. It lasts a long time. It is not permanent.
  • Damaged grout has to be repaired first. A color seal over cracked or missing grout looks right for a short while and then fails.
  • The color is close to a commitment. Once grout has been color sealed, going back to the old shade is not practical. Take the test area seriously and pick a color you can live with.
  • It does not suit every surface. Textured tile, unglazed tile and natural stone can hold pigment where it is not wanted. We test a hidden area first and will tell you if your floor is a poor fit.
  • It changes the grout and nothing else. Worn glaze, scratched tile and cracked pieces stay as they were.

Safe for Your Family and Pets

The products we use are safe for family homes once cured, with no lingering odor. We protect nearby cabinets, trim and fixtures before any pigment goes on. Stay off the floor for the cure time we give you.

What Customers Say

  • “They did a great job cleaning our tile throughout our home. I could not believe how dirty they were. They sealed our grout as well!! Worth every penny!!”

  • “I contacted David about cleaning my kitchen tile and grout honestly not thinking the grout could be cleaned after 13 years of foot traffic. I am so pleased with the results! The grout looks almost as good as it did 13 years ago and the tile looks brand new. They were also very professional and reasonably priced. Could not be happier!”

Grout Restoration Questions

What is the difference between grout cleaning and grout restoration?

Cleaning takes soil out of the grout you have. Restoration repairs what needs repair, then coats every line in an even pigmented seal. Cleaning keeps the color your grout already has. Restoration replaces it with one you choose.

Can I change my grout color?

Yes, and that is one of the main reasons people choose it. Going darker is usually easier and more forgiving. We test on a hidden section of your own floor first.

How long does a grout color seal last?

A long time, but not forever. It wears first at thresholds and heavy traffic spots, and those can be touched up. Gentle routine cleaning without harsh chemicals gets the most life out of it.

Does grout recoloring work, or does it look painted on?

Done carefully, it reads as grout. The excess pigment comes off the tile face before it sets, so no haze is left behind. That is why we test first and take our time on that step.

Do I need restoration or just cleaning?

Clean first. If the grout lightens to a color you like, you are done. Restoration is for when cleaning has reached its limit, and we would rather show you that on your own floor than assume it.

Wondering about cost? We do not post prices, but you can see what affects the price of tile and grout cleaning.
