Tile & Grout Cleaning
Wall Tile Cleaning in Jackson, TN

Wall tile cleaning in Jackson is hand work. Walls take no foot traffic, so the soil is a film of grease, steam residue and dust. Cleaner runs down a wall, so we apply it a small section at a time, work the tile and grout with hand tools and wipe each section down.
Wall tile has an easier life than floor tile and a different kind of dirt. Nothing walks across it, so there is no grit and no dirty mop water. What builds up is a film. Cooking grease in a kitchen, steam and soap in a bathroom and dust everywhere layer slowly over years until the tile looks flat and the grout looks gray.
The hard part is the angle. On a floor, cleaner can sit and work. On a wall it runs to the baseboard in seconds. So we apply it in small sections and work it by hand before it runs off.
Wall tile also sits next to things that do not like water or pressure: drywall, cabinets, painted trim, outlets and switches. That rules out the high-pressure floor tool on most walls. The job is hand tools and careful protection.
Older decorative wall tile needs a gentler touch still. Vintage and specialty wall glazes are often softer than floor glaze and can dull under products a floor would shrug off. We test a hidden spot before starting. Call (731) 437-0006 or request an estimate.

Our Process
Identify the Tile and What Is Next to It
Wall glaze is often softer than floor glaze. What sits beside the tile decides which methods we can use. We also check the grout for failing spots, hairline cracks and old repairs.
Test a Hidden Section
We test a small hidden section before anything goes on the visible wall.
Protect What Surrounds It
Drywall, cabinets, countertops, trim and outlets are covered.
Apply Cleaner in Sections
Cleaner goes on a small section at a time, so it can work instead of running off.
Work It With Hand Tools
Tile faces and every grout row are worked by hand. On walls this is the whole job.
Rinse and Wipe Down
Each section is rinsed and wiped, so nothing dries to a haze or runs down over finished work.
Look It Over Together
You look at the wall with us before we leave, and we point out anything that is damage.

Realistic Results, Honestly
We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.
- Nearby materials limit the method. Drywall, cabinets, painted trim and outlets mean high pressure cannot be used on most walls. The work is by hand, so it is slower for its size than a floor.
- Wall grout is very often unsealed and can hold stain, especially behind a range or in a steamy bathroom. Where stain has soaked in, some tint remains. Color sealing is the option at that point.
- Loose tiles, hollow-sounding sections and failing grout are repairs. We check before cleaning, because adding moisture to a wall with failed grout can make an existing problem worse.
- Older decorative glazes are more fragile than modern floor tile. Crazing, the fine cracked pattern in a vintage glaze, is permanent and shows more once the film is gone. We show you before we start.
Safe for Your Family and Pets
We use family safe, pet safe products in small, controlled sections, with everything around the tile protected, so nothing runs onto cabinets, outlets or trim. We ventilate as we work and rinse fully.

Wall Tile Cleaning Questions
Why does wall tile need different treatment from floor tile?
Different dirt and a different angle. Walls collect a film of grease, steam and dust, and cleaner runs straight off a vertical surface. That calls for small sections and hand tools instead of the floor tool.
Can you use the pressure tools on walls?
Rarely, and only where the surroundings allow it. Drywall, cabinets, trim and outlets sit right next to most wall tile, so we use hand tools and protect what is around it. It is slower.
Will cleaning damage old decorative tile?
Older wall glazes are softer than floor glazes and can dull under strong products. We test a hidden spot before starting and will tell you if a wall is too fragile to push.
Is the grout on my walls sealed?
Usually not. Wall grout is often left unsealed when it is installed. That is why it stains behind a range or in a bathroom, and why sealing it after cleaning is worth a thought.
