Realistic Results, Honestly

- The top of a footstool has been used like a floor. Shoe soil ground into the fabric for years often lightens instead of disappearing, especially on light colored fabric.
- Drink rings that soaked into the padding can wick back to the surface as the piece dries. If that happens, call us and we will come back and look at it.
- Tufting and button wells dry slower than flat panels, because moisture sits in the pocket. Those areas are usually the last part of the piece to dry.
- If the ottoman is covered in a different fabric than the chair it matches, and many are, the two may not respond the same way.

Can you get shoe marks off the top of an ottoman?
Usually they improve. Shoe soil ground into fabric over years acts like traffic lane soil on carpet, and on light colored fabric some shadowing can remain.
Do you clean inside a storage ottoman?
Yes. We open the lid, clean the inside and give the hinge area attention.
What about the buttons and tufting?
Crumbs and dust collect in every button well, so we clear those first. Then we use less liquid in those pockets, since tufting is the slowest part of a piece to dry.
Should the ottoman be cleaned with the chair it matches?
Yes, on the same visit if you can. Matching pieces need the same method to still look like a set afterward. Cleaning them months apart leaves a difference.
Can you remove drink rings?
Often they improve, more so if they have not been there long. Rings that soaked into the padding can wick back as the piece dries. Some old rings on light fabric lighten instead of clearing.
