Marble Floor Cleaning in Jackson, TN
4.9 (278 reviews)2 min read
Marble floor cleaning in Jackson is done with pH-neutral products, because marble is calcium based and acid eats into it. HydroClean identifies the stone, applies a safe cleaner, then rinses and extracts the soil. Dull marks left by vinegar, bathroom cleaners or citrus are etching. That is damage to the marble, and cleaning does not take it out.
Marble is easy to damage with the wrong cleaner. It is calcium based, and it reacts with acid as soon as the two touch. Lemon juice on a marble counter leaves a mark in seconds. A bathroom cleaner used on a marble floor every week slowly takes the polish off.
Most people think that dull patch is dirt. It is etching. So the first thing the technician does on marble is sort out what is soil and what is etching, and show you.
Soil, body oil and soap film come off with a pH-neutral cleaner, a rinse and extraction. Etching stays, because nothing is sitting on the stone to remove. The surface itself has been eaten into.
After cleaning we can seal the marble. Call (731) 437-0006 or send an estimate request and we will set a time to come look at it.

Our Process
Confirm the Stone
The technician confirms the floor is marble and tests a small spot first.
Sort Soil From Etching
We show you which dull areas look like soil and which look like etching that cleaning will not fix.
Apply a pH-Neutral Cleaner
A cleaner that is safe for marble goes down and is given time to loosen the soil.
Rinse and Extract
The floor is rinsed and the soil is extracted off it.
Seal If You Want It
Sealer goes on the clean marble if you asked for it.

You get a chance to look at the work before we leave.

Realistic Results, Honestly
We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.
- Etch marks will still be there when the marble is clean. Acid dissolved the surface in those spots. That is damage, and cleaning does not restore it.
- Old stains that soaked into the stone may lighten and still show.
- Scratches and dull traffic paths are wear. The marble is polished as part of our cleaning, which brings back shine and can soften the look of light surface wear. It does not take out deep scratches.
- Etching can be easier to see after cleaning. Once the soil is gone, the etched spots stand out more against the clean stone.
Safe for Your Family and Pets

Marble Cleaning Questions
Can you remove etch marks from marble?
Not by cleaning. An etch mark is a spot where acid dissolved the surface of the stone, so there is nothing on it to clean off. Taking it out means honing the stone, and we refer that work to a contractor who specializes in it.
What caused the dull ring on my marble?
Almost always something acidic. A glass of wine, a slice of citrus, a soda can or a cleaning spray. The ring is the shape of whatever sat there.
What should I clean my marble with day to day?
A pH-neutral cleaner labeled for natural stone. Stay away from vinegar, lemon, bathroom and tub cleaners and most all-purpose sprays.
Should I seal marble after cleaning?
It is worth doing. Sealer slows down how fast a spill soaks in. It will not stop acid from etching the surface.
