HydroClean cleans luxury vinyl plank and tile in Jackson and West Tennessee. These floors are low maintenance, but their ridged finish holds soil that mopping leaves behind. We pre-spray a cleaner, recover it with a small extractor and finish with a neutralizing rinse. Luxury vinyl is a plastic material, so we often use gentler cleaners than on wood.

LVP has become one of the fastest-growing floors going into homes and businesses. If your house was built or got new floors in the last ten years or so, there is a good chance some of it is luxury vinyl. LVP is the wood-look plank. LVT is the tile version, usually made to look like stone or ceramic.

These floors are low maintenance. But the way they are built, and the ridged finish on most of them, holds on to soil. A mop passes over the top of the ridges and leaves what is down in them. That soil has to be extracted to get it out.

You can check this at home. Look at your mop water, or at the bottoms of your socks after you walk across the floor. If either one comes back dark on a floor that looks clean, the soil is sitting in the texture.

We clean luxury vinyl almost the same way we clean hardwood. We pre-spray a cleaner, recover it with a small extractor and finish with a neutralizing rinse so the floor does not attract soil or footprints. Because vinyl is a plastic material, we often use gentler cleaners on it than we do on wood.

HydroClean is family-owned and has been in Jackson since 2010. David Laton, the owner, still answers the phone and works the jobs.

To get an estimate, call (731) 437-0006 or send a request. Tell us which rooms and about how big they are. On some jobs we can give a phone estimate, with the final price set when we see the floor. On others we come out for an in-home estimate. Once you approve it we schedule a time, and you get a chance to look at the floor before we leave.

All LVP & LVT Luxury Vinyl Flooring Services

Each service below has its own page. It explains how we do the work, what to expect and what may remain.

  • LVT Floor Cleaning

Cleaning for luxury vinyl tile in homes, clinics and offices. We extract the soil out of the texture and leave the wear layer alone.

  • LVP Floor Cleaning

Luxury vinyl plank is low maintenance, but the ridges in it hold soil. We clean the plank and extract what the mop leaves behind.

Benefits

  • Soil extracted out of the ridged finish
  • Gentler cleaners, chosen for a plastic floor
  • A neutralizing rinse so the floor does not attract soil or footprints
  • No stripping and no wax
  • The floor is identified before we choose a cleaner

Our Process

  1. Confirm What the Floor Is

Luxury vinyl, VCT and some laminate can look alike. The technician confirms which one you have, because VCT is stripped and waxed and luxury vinyl is not.

  2. Pre-Spray

We pre-spray a cleaner on the floor. Vinyl is a plastic material, so this is often a gentler cleaner than we would use on wood.

  3. Extract

A small extractor recovers the cleaner and pulls the soil out of the ridges in the finish. This is the part a mop cannot do.

  4. Neutralizing Rinse

We finish with a neutralizing rinse so the floor does not attract soil or show footprints.

  5. You Look at the Floor

Before we leave, you get a chance to look at the work. If something is not right and it is within our ability, we make it right before we go.

What's Included

  • Confirmation that the floor is luxury vinyl
  • Cleaner pre-spray suited to vinyl
  • Extraction of the cleaner and the soil in the texture
  • A neutralizing rinse
  • A chance to look at the work before we leave

Realistic Results, Honestly

We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.

  • We do not strip and wax luxury vinyl. The factory wear layer is the finish on these floors. Strip and wax is for VCT.
  • Cleaning brings the floor back to the sheen it was made with. A matte floor will be a clean matte floor.
  • Scratches and gouges in the wear layer do not come out. Cleaning gets the soil out of them, so they may show less, but they are still there.
  • Planks that are swollen or lifting at the seams have water damage. Cleaning does not fix that.
  • If the floor was waxed or polished at some point, getting that off is slower work, and we do not always know what will come out until we start.

Safe for Your Family and Pets

The products we use are tested and safe for homes, including homes with children and pets. If anyone in the house has severe allergies or sensitivities, tell us ahead of time. We have a hypoallergenic cleaner with no odor or perfume. Keep everyone off the floor until it is dry.

LVP & LVT Luxury Vinyl Flooring Questions

Why does my mop water look dirty even though the floor looks clean?

Most luxury vinyl has a ridged finish, and soil sits down in those ridges where a mop does not reach. The floor can look fine and still be holding soil. That soil has to be extracted to get it out.

How do you clean luxury vinyl?

Almost the same way we clean hardwood. We pre-spray a cleaner, recover it with a small extractor and finish with a neutralizing rinse. The cleaners are often gentler, because vinyl is a plastic material.

Can you strip and wax my LVP or LVT?

No. Strip and wax is for VCT, which depends on floor finish for its shine. Luxury vinyl has a factory wear layer and is cleaned. If you are not sure which floor you have, call us and we will help you sort it out.

Can a sealer or coating go on luxury vinyl?

We do not wax luxury vinyl. If you want added protection, a professional-grade protective coating can go on after the floor is cleaned. It is an add-on, done when you ask for it. Tell us when you call so it is on the estimate.

How do I know if my floor is luxury vinyl and not VCT?

VCT is usually a plain 12 inch tile in a solid or flecked color, and it is mostly found in commercial buildings. Luxury vinyl is printed to look like wood, stone or ceramic and usually has some texture. The technician confirms it before we clean.

What is the difference between LVP and LVT?

LVP is plank. It looks like wood and goes down in long strips. LVT is tile. It usually looks like stone or ceramic. We clean both the same way.

How often should luxury vinyl be professionally cleaned?

It depends on traffic, pets and kids. If the mop water keeps coming back dark, it is due. A lot of families have it done with their spring or fall cleaning.

How do I get a price?

Call (731) 437-0006 or send an estimate request. We do not post prices, because each job is priced on its own. Give us the rooms and rough sizes. Some jobs we can estimate by phone, with the final price set when we see the floor.

Wondering about cost? We do not post prices, but you can see what affects the price of floor cleaning.
