New finish is applied once the tile is dry, then left to dry before the floor is used.

Realistic Results, Honestly
We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.
- The floor cannot be walked on until the new finish is dry. Feet or carts on it too early leave marks. We give you the timing before we start.
- Finish is clear, so it shows the tile under it. Worn, scratched, gouged or stained tile will still show, and a glossy floor can make it easier to see.
- Some stains are in the tile and stay after stripping. We do not always know what will come out until the old finish is off.
- Cracked, curling or missing tiles need to be replaced before finishing. We do not replace tile.

VCT Strip & Wax Questions
Why does the floor need time before we walk on it?
New finish has to dry and harden. If people walk on it too early, footprints and scuffs get pressed into it. We tell you ahead of time when the floor will be ready.
Can you do this while we are open?
Not in the area being done. The floor has to be empty while it is stripped and while the finish dries. Evening and weekend work is available on request, and we work out the timing with you when we prepare the estimate.
Will stripping fix my scratched tile?
No. Stripping removes finish. Scratches, gouges and worn spots in the tile itself will still be there under the new finish.
Do you strip and wax wood floors?
No. Strip and wax is for VCT. For hardwood we have a deep cleaning service and a screen and recoat. We do not sand floors to bare wood.
How often does VCT need stripping?
It depends on traffic and on what is done between strips. A floor that is scrubbed and buffed regularly goes a lot longer. We can set that up with you.
