Travertine floor cleaning in Jackson takes care with a stone that reacts to acid and is full of natural holes. On most travertine floors those holes were filled at the factory, and the fill can loosen with age. HydroClean checks the fill first, then cleans with pH-neutral products, rinses and extracts. We can seal the floor afterward.

Travertine has small natural holes all through it. On most floor tile those holes were filled at the factory and the tile was honed flat. On some, they were left open as part of the look.

Two things matter when it is cleaned. Travertine is calcium based like marble, so acidic cleaners etch it. And the fill is not stone. It ages and lets go over the years, and once a hole is open it collects soil.

So the technician checks the fill before we start. Then we clean with a pH-neutral product, rinse and extract. We go easy on it. Too much pressure can blow fill out of the holes.

Travertine is one of the more porous stones, so it is a good one to seal. Call (731) 437-0006 or send an estimate request and we will set a time to look at the floor.

Benefits of Travertine Cleaning

  • pH-neutral products for a stone that reacts to acid
  • Fill checked before we start
  • Soil rinsed and extracted out of the holes and texture
  • Sealing available afterward

Who This Is For

  • Jackson homeowners with travertine floors
  • Bathrooms where cleaners have dulled the stone
  • Floors where open holes are collecting soil
  • Floors where the fill has started to come out

Our Process

  1. Check the Stone and the Fill

The technician looks at whether the travertine is filled or unfilled and checks for fill that is loose or already gone.

  2. Test a Spot

We clean a small area first to see how the stone and the fill respond.

  3. Apply a pH-Neutral Cleaner

The cleaner goes down and is given time to loosen the soil.

  4. Rinse and Extract

The floor is rinsed and the soil is extracted, with the pressure kept down to protect the fill.

  5. Seal If You Want It

Sealer goes on the clean stone if you asked for it.

  6. You Look at the Floor

You get a chance to look at the work before we leave, and we show you any fill that came loose.

What's Included

  • A check of the stone and the fill
  • A test spot
  • A pH-neutral cleaner
  • Rinse and extraction
  • Sealer, if you asked for it
  • A chance to look at the work before we leave

Realistic Results, Honestly

We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.

  • Fill can come loose. It fails on its own with age, and cleaning sometimes releases a fill that was already on its way out. We check first and tell you what looks weak. We cannot promise every fill stays.
  • Etching stays. Any spot touched by bathroom cleaner, vinegar or citrus is damaged, and that dullness is still there after cleaning.
  • Open holes will still be open. Cleaning gets the soil out of them. It does not fill them.
  • Stains that have soaked deep into the stone may only lighten.

Safe for Your Family and Pets

We use pH-neutral products that are tested and safe for homes with children and pets. Travertine floors are usually ready for use within 1 to 2 hours.

Travertine Cleaning Questions

Why are holes appearing in my travertine?

Those are natural holes that were filled at the factory, and the fill has come loose. It happens with age and traffic. That is why we check the fill before we clean.

What cleaners are safe on travertine?

pH-neutral cleaners labeled for natural stone. Travertine is calcium based like marble, so vinegar, lemon and bathroom cleaners etch it.

Should travertine be sealed?

We think so. It is a porous stone and soaks things up fast. Sealer slows that down so you have time to wipe up a spill. It does not make the floor stainproof.

How much does travertine floor cleaning cost?

We do not post prices. Each job is priced on its own, and it depends on the size of the floor and its condition. Call or send an estimate request and we will come look at it.

Wondering about cost? We do not post prices, but you can see what affects the price of stone and area rug cleaning.
