Our Commitment

We want you to be able to use this website, learn what we do, and request an estimate, however you browse. That includes people who use a screen reader, people who navigate by keyboard only, people who zoom text a long way, and people who cannot use a mouse or a trackpad.

HydroClean is a locally owned Jackson business, and this is our own website. What follows is a plain account of what we built, what we tested, and what we know is not finished yet.

The Standard We Target

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That includes the newer success criteria: focus not obscured, a non-dragging alternative for any dragging movement, and minimum target sizes for interactive controls.

We aim for substantial conformance, not perfection. Where we fall short, we list it below instead of pretending otherwise.

What We Built In

  • Semantic HTML5 landmarks on every page, so screen reader users can jump between header, navigation, main content and footer.
  • A skip to main content link as the first focusable element on every page.
  • One H1 per page and a heading order that never skips a level, so the document outline is navigable.
  • Every color pair in the design system checked against WCAG AA contrast. Body text meets 4.5 to 1. Large text and interface elements meet 3 to 1.
  • Visible high contrast focus outlines on every interactive element, shown for keyboard users without cluttering the view for mouse users.
  • Descriptive alternative text on every content image. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Form fields with properly associated labels, programmatic required and invalid states, and error messages that explain how to fix the problem rather than only flagging it.
  • Accordions and disclosures built with native HTML details and summary elements, so they work with keyboard and screen readers without custom scripting.
  • The before and after comparison slider is a real range input, so it is operable with arrow keys and not only by dragging.
  • Navigation dropdowns become a tappable accordion under 1024 pixels rather than relying on hover, which does not exist on touch devices.
  • Full keyboard operability, including Escape to close the mobile menu and focus returning to the control that opened it.
  • The prefers-reduced-motion setting disables all non-essential animation.
  • Page content and navigation remain reachable with JavaScript disabled.
  • No horizontal scrolling at any viewport width from 360 pixels upward.
  • A print stylesheet so contact and location pages print cleanly.

What We Tested

Color contrast is checked automatically before each release. In October 2026 the site was reviewed with automated accessibility tools and with manual keyboard testing.

Beyond automation, we checked keyboard operation of the navigation, the mobile drawer, the accordions, the comparison slider and the estimate request form. We also confirmed that every page renders without horizontal scrolling from 360 pixels upward.

Automated testing catches roughly a third of real accessibility problems. Passing a checker is not the same as being usable. That is why the feedback channel below matters more than any badge.

Known Limitations

Here is where we are not finished yet.

  • Embedded Map

The map on the contact and service area pages loads from Google only after you click. Once loaded, its accessibility is determined by Google rather than by us. A full text address, a phone number and a directions link are always available without loading the map.

  • Screen Reader Testing Breadth

We have checked structure and keyboard operation thoroughly. We have not yet finished a full manual pass with every major screen reader and browser combination. That work is ongoing.

  • Inline Text Links

Some links inside paragraphs and breadcrumbs are smaller than the 44 pixel target we use for buttons. WCAG allows this for inline text, and enlarging them would break the reading flow. We list it so this account is complete.

  • Photography

Our images have descriptive alternative text. We do not yet provide long descriptions for the before and after comparisons. When matched pairs are published, each will carry a written description of what changed.

Report a Problem

If something on this site does not work for you, please tell us. A specific description helps most: which page, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead. We will fix it, and we will tell you when it is fixed.

The fastest route is the phone. If you cannot use this website to request an estimate for any reason, call us. Our Jackson team will take the details for you. You should never have to fight a website to get your floors cleaned.
