Area Rug Cleaning in Jackson, TN
4.9 (278 reviews)2 min read
Area rug cleaning in Jackson starts with identifying the fiber, because a rug is not cleaned like wall-to-wall carpet. For a synthetic rug, HydroClean tests the dyes and chooses the method after that. Oriental and fine wool rugs are cleaned through a partner in Memphis, Tennessee. Some rugs should not be wet cleaned, and we say so.
A rug is a different thing from wall-to-wall carpet. It has edges, fringe, a backing and dyes that may or may not hold when they get wet. Clean one like carpet and you can ruin it.
Rugs also take a lot of use. They sit where the dog sleeps, under the dining table and inside the front door. Spills go right through them, and the underside holds more grit than most people expect.
So we identify the fiber first. Wool, synthetic, cotton, viscose or a blend. Then we test the dyes in a spot that will not show. The cleaning method is chosen after that, because the right method for one fiber can damage another.
Oriental and fine wool rugs are handled differently. We arrange that cleaning through a partner in Memphis, Tennessee.
Call (731) 437-0006 or send an estimate request. Tell us the size of the rug and what you know about it, and we will go from there.

Our Process
Identify the Fiber
Wool, synthetic, cotton, viscose or a blend. The technician also looks at how the rug is made and at the backing.
Test the Dyes
We test the dyes in a spot that will not show. A rug that fails the test gets a different method, or we tell you it should not be wet cleaned.
Choose the Method
The cleaning method is chosen for the fiber and the dyes. An oriental or fine wool rug goes to our partner in Memphis, Tennessee. We tell you what we plan to do before we do it.
Clean the Rug
Spots and traffic areas are treated, and the rug is cleaned and rinsed.
You Look at the Rug
You get a chance to look at the work when it is done.
What's Included
- Fiber identification
- Dye testing
- A method chosen for the rug
- Spot treatment, cleaning and rinsing
- A chance to look at the work when it is done
Realistic Results, Honestly
We would rather set an honest expectation than make a promise we cannot keep.
- Dyes can bleed. Testing tells us a lot, but it cannot tell us everything. Older rugs and deep colors carry more risk.
- Some rugs are not safe to wet clean. Certain viscose, silk and antique pieces get a no from us.
- Worn pile, frayed fringe and faded color stay. Cleaning makes the rug clean. It does not undo wear.
- We do not always know what will come out, especially with old spills and pet stains.
Safe for Your Family and Pets
The products we use are tested and safe for homes with children and pets. The technician identifies the fiber before choosing a product, because a cleaner that is fine for one rug can be wrong for another.

Area Rug Cleaning Questions
How do you decide how to clean my rug?
By the fiber. We identify what the rug is made of and test the dyes, and the method comes from that. Oriental and fine wool rugs are cleaned through a partner in Memphis, Tennessee. Tell us what you know about the rug when you call.
Will the colors run?
We test the dyes before we clean. If a rug shows it is likely to bleed, we change the method or recommend against wet cleaning it. Testing lowers the risk. It does not take it away completely.
Can I drop a rug off for cleaning?
Call or text (731) 437-0006 first and we will arrange it with you. We are a mobile service, so please do not bring a rug to our address without calling ahead. Tell us the size of the rug and what you know about it, and we will work out with you how it gets cleaned.
How often should area rugs be cleaned?
It depends on where the rug sits. One inside the front door needs it more often than one in a formal room. Lift a corner. If there is grit on the floor under it, the rug is holding soil.
What about pet accidents on a rug?
Tell us before we start. Urine goes through a rug to the floor under it, and old urine can change the dye. We look at each spot and tell you what we think. We cannot promise the stain or the odor comes out completely.
Wondering about cost? We do not post prices, but you can see what affects the price of floor cleaning.
